Holiday Fundraising: The Heart of Giving and a Boost for Company Spirit

As the holidays approach, many of us look forward to giving back, spending time with loved ones, and bringing joy to those in need. One of the most powerful ways to embody the spirit of the season is through holiday fundraising. Whether for a office party, a family gathering, a groups annual give back, or even a workplace charity event, holiday fundraisers can brighten lives, inspire teamwork, and leave everyone with the glow that only giving back can bring. We invite you to be part of our goals this holiday season and host a fun event with your team to give back to our homeless keiki. We have several different goal challenges to be taken on... from meal cards, funds for the party, teen sponsorships, transportation costs, Santa and Me photo booth, etc.

Why Holiday Fundraising is the Perfect Seasonal Boost

During the holiday season, our hearts naturally open toward helping others. For organizations and companies, a holiday fundraiser is more than just a financial campaign; it's an opportunity to rally together for a common cause and create a sense of unity among team members.

Fundraising during this time can:

  • Strengthen Bonds: Engaging in a cause creates a unique sense of community. Employees, teams, and departments come together, putting aside their daily routines to work toward a goal that everyone can be proud of. Plus, these experiences often spark friendships and memories that carry on beyond the holiday season.

  • Uplift Company Culture: When companies participate in charity events, it showcases their commitment to social responsibility, which can be deeply inspiring for employees. Supporting a cause brings pride in the workplace and contributes to a sense of purpose within the company culture.

  • Improve Morale: Contributing to a charitable effort has proven mental health benefits. Giving back improves mood, reduces stress, and even boosts energy levels. The holiday season is the perfect time to recharge in this way, and a successful campaign can make employees feel fulfilled and ready to tackle the new year with a refreshed mindset.

This smile says it all!! Your group can bring these feelings to hundreds of children just by hosting a fundraiser for Project Hawai’i, Inc.

How to Make Holiday Fundraising a Hit

To make your holiday fundraising efforts a success, think beyond just “asking for money.” Create an experience that brings people together, sparks joy, and ultimately inspires generosity. Here are some ideas to keep the holiday spirit alive while encouraging donations:

  1. Set Up a Festive Competition: Friendly competition is a great motivator! Organize team-based fundraisers or challenges and offer a reward (such as a holiday lunch or a casual dress day) for the group that raises the most. This can bring out everyone’s best ideas and turn the campaign into a fun, team-building activity.

  2. Bring in the Holiday Spirit: Transform your office, lobby, or break area into a giving hub. Create donation stations, or even a “giving tree” where people can select an ornament representing a donation item they’re providing. Holiday music, treats, and decorations can make the atmosphere even more festive.

  3. Share Impact Stories: Remind everyone of the “why” by sharing the stories of people who will benefit from the fundraiser. You might feature a story about a local family in need, or photos from past holiday donations. These reminders of real lives impacted will keep the cause at the forefront of everyone’s minds. We can provide you with so many different options of these stories and photos.

  4. Make it Social: Take your campaign online and share updates on social media. Post photos, videos, or stories of the campaign’s progress and use it as a way for people to share their contributions. A quick, heartfelt video of your team in action can inspire others to donate or get involved! We can provide you with your own landing page for online donations or QR codes with a donation link for even quicker processing.

  5. Host a Virtual Holiday Event: For remote teams or those with multiple locations, consider a virtual holiday fundraiser. Host a holiday party online, add in a fun activity like an ugly sweater contest or a bake-off, and encourage participants to make small donations. People can join from anywhere, making it easy for everyone to participate.

  6. Silent Auctions are also amazing ways to get your clients involved and have a FUN and inexpensive way to shop for Christmas gifts while raising funds and awareness. We can also assist with the online auction if needed.

The Lasting Impact of Holiday Giving

Holiday fundraising isn’t just about meeting a financial goal; it’s about creating memories, enhancing camaraderie, and reinforcing the values that make your organization unique. When employees see their workplace making a meaningful impact, it brings a sense of pride and loyalty. Companies that embrace this spirit help foster a culture of compassion that not only lasts through the holiday season but also carries into the rest of the year.

So, why not make this holiday season one to remember? By giving back as a team, you’re sharing in the joy of the season, helping those in need, and strengthening the bonds that make work a truly fulfilling place.

Every donation from $5. to $500 makes a difference. Your group will make a difference and place the everlastingly joy of the holidays in the hearts of our homeless keiki.

Smiles like these create lifelong memories for these precious children. Please choose to be part of our goal this year. We have hundreds of homeless children across the 3 islands we serve. These children range from infancy to teens.

Typically we will have between 650-800 homeless children across the island of Hawai'i/Big Island, well over 350 on O'ahu and close to 200 on Maui. We can't do this without your support.

Be part of our Elf Team and make sure every child has their wishes from Santa.

Connect with us to set up your fundraiser. We can assist with choosing a goal from raising funds for the dinners, sponsoring teens, providing Santas wishes, and so much more.
