At Project Hawai’i, Inc., summer is more than just a season — it’s a chance to inspire, uplift, and empower homeless children across the islands.
As we kick off our summer camp programs, we’re already seeing the magic unfold.
Our teen mentoring workshops are filling hearts with hope and opening doors to new opportunities. From leadership skills to emotional wellness, our teens are gaining the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and thrive.

Support Still Needed:We’re still in need of community support to ensure this summer is unforgettable for every keiki. We’re asking for help with:
🍽️ Meals for Teens: We currently have very little food for our teen program. You can donate funds or host a food drive for one meal’s ingredients!
🎨 Workshop Sponsors: Want to sponsor an art therapy class or cooking session for our teens? These creative spaces provide healing, confidence, and life skills.
🛍️ Back-to-School Sponsorships: Our keiki need new shoes and clothing for the school year. You can choose a child and shop for their needs directly or make a donation.
👨👩👧👦 Family Fun Day & Volunteer Opportunities: We also need volunteers to help make our upcoming Family Fun Day a special event filled with joy and connection. Plus, we’re hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser soon and could use helping hands to make it a success.
How You Can Help Today:
🌟 Share our story with friends or local businesses
This summer, you can be the reason a child smiles, a teen finds their path, or a family feels supported. Together, we’re building brighter futures, one act of kindness at a time.

Why Our Summer Programs Matter So Deeply to Hawai‘i’s Homeless Keiki
For most children, summer is a time of play, travel, laughter, and carefree fun. But for a homeless child in Hawai‘i, summer can be the hardest and loneliest season of the year.
Instead of going to beach days or summer camp, our keiki often spend their days hiding from the heat in cars or tents, with no access to regular meals, no friends to play with, and no safe place to be a kid.
Without school in session, many lose their only consistent source of food. There’s no lunch line waiting for them — just an empty stomach and uncertainty.
No Home.
No Routine.
No Belonging.
Many of the children we serve don’t have access to showers or clean clothes, let alone the simple joy of brushing their teeth daily. They are isolated — physically and emotionally — tucked away in remote brush areas, parked vehicles, or makeshift shelters hidden from view.
💔 Without programs like ours, these children would go through the summer hungry, unbathed, disconnected, and unseen.
What Our Program Provides:
✨ Hot meals every day
✨ Fresh clothes, hygiene, and showers
✨ Loving mentors who listen and guide
✨ Safe spaces to play, learn, and be children again
✨ Creative outlets like art and cooking workshops
✨ A place to belong — an ‘ohana that sees them
This isn’t just a camp. It’s a lifeline. It’s a chance for these keiki to feel human, hopeful, and worthy — many for the first time.
If you’ve ever wondered what your donation or volunteer hours really do, know this: you’re helping a child experience childhood again.

Mahalo for being part of our ‘ohana!
