22nd Annual Christmas Party for Big Island ~ Hilo Side

This is the hightlight of the year for our homeless keiki and you are the reason they can enjoy a holiday celebration complete with games, make and take crafts, photos with Santa, special gifts, a hot holiday meal and so much more.

Your commitment is key to making this a success.

REGULATIONS TO PARTICIPATE:

Dec. 19th ~ Hilo (location will be emailed once accepted)

ALL VOLUNTEERS NEED TO:

Provide all needed supportive supplies for their project/see below for more details.
Be on time to set up their station and break down afterwards
Limited to 2 people or one family per project table. We can not accommodate groups of larger sizes/ this takes away from a child's entrance.
Dress as ELVES!! Be creative with fun holiday socks, red or green dresses/shorts, fun aprons, holiday hats, adornments, etc. The children are coming to Santa's Workshop expecting to see elves not humans. This is MANDATORY that everyone is an elf!! We do have outfits and accessories as well on hand.
NO PHOTOGRAPHY of any kind is to be taken. We will provide you with photos of the event with appropriate photos for your use. For privacy NO photos to be taken on your cell phones.

Santa

We have the suit that fits a wide array of sizes! You bring the black boots.

Santa will have the children sit on his lap or stand for photos as the children receive their gifts. Approx. 1 hour 1.5 max

Cookie Decorating

Provide 150 sugar cookie cutouts along with simple decorations for the keiki to make and take. Provide plates and baggies for each child.

Santa Thank You Cards

Provide 250 cut out cards along with fun stickers, crayons, markers, rubber stamps, etc. and other items for them to decorate for "Santa". Each child will drop their card in a mailbox for Santa as they receive their gift and then we use these to thank the donors and volunteers.

This team can be upto 3 people to assist with this project.

Make and Take Crafts

Options Open:

1. Pony Bead/Pipe cleaner crafts.

2. Candy Cane Reindeer

3. Candy Lei Making

4. Friendship/Name Bracelet

Each craft table needs to be prepared to offer approx. 70 children.

Open to have up to 3 volunteers

Game Ambassadors

We need 7 teams of 2 for our game stations.

Volunteers need to provide 50 prizes for their games along with the fun easy game.

Please let me know what you are bringing so we can plan accordingly.

Absolutely NO FOOD/CANDY.

Photographer

Photographer duties will include getting photos of the party overall, children playing games, making crafts, eating meals, visiting Santa, etc.

All Photos are to be turned in at the party!!

We are looking for a few great shots for our thank you cards or those "tear jerking shots"

Set Up Volunteers

Check in at noon to help with party preparations, decorating and setting up. Usually a two hour shift.

Clean UP Crew

We need volunteers to assist with basic cleaning up, packing the van, etc. Check in around 7, and usually less than two hours

Drivers

We are looking for helpers to pick up gifts, help transport items to the party, or other party prep prior to.
