Easter Volunteer Opportunities:

These children deserve all the wonders that the holidays bring!! The basic holiday events being brought to them is a vital step to their self-esteem and social life skills learning process.

 

Our agency will be sure to provide them with the basic life needs, as well as bring them a little fun over their holiday. We will provide them with Bunny Bags filled with hygiene products, an Easter bucket filled with school supplies, games, and other educational and life needs, like shoes, outfits, and a healthy meal.

Volunteers are needed to help us with our FUND-RAISING Events to assure we can meet the needs of our homeless keiki. We currently are providing services to approximately 120 children along the Wai'anae coast, high in the mountains and spread across the cities.  There are 60 homeless pre-schoolers in Aiea and we have our other encampments across the island for a total of over 280 children living in poverty
 

SATURDAYS in Pearl City:    March 16th & April 6th & 20th Sat  in Pearl City 11a-2p

(Pearl City First Hawaiian Bank / Kam HWY corner of Waimano Homestead road) Park in the Bank parking lot (under the Mc Donald's in the same center as Chucky E Cheese)

Sunday in Kane'ohe: March 17th  & April 14th 11a-2p

Meet at the First Hawaiian Bank in the Windward City Shopping Center (across from the BURGER KING and TOYOTA car lot intersection)

FRIDAY & SATURDAY IN KAPOLEI: Friday March 15th 2:30-5:00/ Saturday April 13th 11a-2p.. meet in the Safeway Parking lot. (enter at the Hele Gas station, first RIGHT and RIGHT again into the empty parking lot and facing Burger King)

Volunteers please arrive 5-10 minutes early for orientation and sign in. We want to start on time!! Mahalo

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DUTIES: All volunteers will be working as a team to accomplish our goal of raising funds. Volunteers will be holding awareness signs and fish nets to collect donations from the public. This event is not suitable to young children (under 8), or elderly (over 65ish).

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Individuals/small groups under 9

  1. Email us with the dates you would like to attend.
  2. Show up 5-10 minutes prior to event
  3. Bring your papers for us to sign if you need

GROUPS over 10 (Both Adults and High School Students)

  1. Email us to REQUEST the dates you would like to attend. We limit groups to 20 or less, we can accommodate you on your own date or shift if needed)
  2. Have your ENTIRE group show up 10 minutes prior to time to sign in. IT IS BEST TO TELL YOUR GROUP THAT IT STARTS 10 minutes early as everyone seems to run late
  3. Groups must bring their own water bottles, while we will have some, it is very difficult to keep all the water cold.

Families with minor children between 8-12 years:

  1. Families with minor children will need to be approved.
  2. Families with minor children will need to provide one adult supervisor willing to help.
  3. Please bring plenty of provisions for your child's needs, such as snacks, water, etc. Please be sure your children eat right before they come.

WHAT TO WEAR:

  • Comfortable clothing for the weather (typically hot). Shorts and t's are fine. Groups/companies, etc can wear their logo t's as well.
  • Wear COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES, you will be on your feet for 3 hours walking/moving around.
  • Sun protection...sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses will help you fight against the elements of being outdoors.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • A water bottle is good. we will have a cooler on hand and snacks
  • Your community service papers. If you don't bring them, I can't sign them
  • A friend is always nice, and YOU earn an extra hour of service for bringing one.
